CHAPTER 115: Shan Pan's Memories [5]

"I did everything for myself."

Wan Shiying's footsteps hesitated for a moment, then she lifted her foot and walked away.

Not long after, Wan Baiyun was discharged from the hospital and was sent to a military training camp by Wan Shiying to focus on preparing for the Military Academy.

Since then, Shan Pan hadn't seen her for over a year, but every night, Wan Baiyun's shadow appeared in her dreams.

Shan Pan noticed that something was off with herself, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

When she saw Wan Baiyun again, it was on Shan Pan's 13th birthday. Wan Baiyun was already 18 years old at that time, and she had grown like a beanstalk. She quickly reached a height of 183 centimeters, and it seemed like she still had room to grow taller.

Her appearance had also taken on the semblance of an adult, but compared to before, there was a hint of sorrow and maturity that was missing.

The present Wan Baiyun seemed to have changed a lot. There was a coldness in her eyes, and she appeared more carefree than before, resembling the delinquent students at Shan Pan's school who didn't like to study and skipped classes.

Seeing that Shan Pan hadn't grown much in height, Wan Baiyun raised her hand and ruffled Shan Pan's head.

With a smile on her face, she teasingly said, "Why hasn't my little sister grown much taller?"

Shan Pan felt uncomfortable facing this version of Wan Baiyun. After dodging her hand and looking up at her, she sniffed forcefully and sounded somewhat displeased. "Are you smoking?"

Wan Baiyun lowered her head and sniffed her clothes, raising an eyebrow with a smirk. "Are you a dog with a keen sense of smell? I've changed my clothes, and you can still tell."

Shan Pan furrowed her brow, looking at Wan Baiyun. "Sister, you weren't like this before."

Wan Baiyun bent down, meeting her gaze, and after seriously looking at her for a moment, she flashed a carefree smile. "What kind of person do you think I am? It seems like Pan Pan still doesn't understand me. I've always been like this."

Shan Pan opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but Wan Baiyun reached up and patted her head. "Alright, little sister, go study quickly. I need to make a call to my girlfriend."

"Girlfriend!?" Shan Pan's tone suddenly heightened. "Since when did you have a girlfriend?"

"Oh, probably last week. She's my girlfriend this year." Wan Baiyun replied casually.

Shan Pan watched Wan Baiyun's figure as she walked away, puffing up her cheeks in frustration. She turned and went back to her own home.

Back at home, Shan Pan's cute face turned into a pout. She sat on the couch and the more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became.

Shan Pan quickly stood up and walked towards Wan's house. Just as she arrived at Wan's doorstep, she heard the sound of shattering glass.

"Wan Baiyun, what are you doing at the military training camp? It's bad enough that you're getting close to that useless rich kid from the Qin family, but now you're talking about some random girlfriend at the training camp. What exactly do you want?"

Wan Baiyun raised an eyebrow and casually took the cigarette out of her mouth, blowing smoke rings. "What did I do? Wasn't it you who sent me to the training camp? So what if I'm at the age to fall in love? Can't I have a girlfriend?"

"You can have a girlfriend, but not with those dubious women!" Wan Shiying's chest was heaving in anger. "What kind of people are you getting involved with? I won't allow it!"

"I don't care if you allow it or not." Wan Baiyun sneered at her. "The more you try to stop me, the more I'll do it just to show you."

Wan Shiying watched her walking away and then picked up a glass from the table and threw it, shattering it on the ground, along with Shan Pan's hopes.

"What are you doing here?" Wan Baiyun took the cigarette out of her mouth and extinguished it against the wall.

Shan Pan frowned and blinked rapidly. "What does your girlfriend look like? Is she prettier than me?"

"You?" Wan Baiyun glanced at her face and chest, then reached up and pinched her cheek. "You're just a kid. What are you comparing yourself to others for? Focus on your studies and stop asking about my business."

"But... but why do you have to date the bad people? They... they don't deserve you." Shan Pan pleaded anxiously.

Wan Baiyun paused and turned to look at her. "Who told you they're all bad people? Don't listen to my grandmother's nonsense. Nothing she says is true. Alright, go back quickly. I have a date to attend. Bye."

Wan Baiyun waved her hand and got into a car, quickly driving away.

Once inside the car, Wan Baiyun's casual expression faded, replaced by a coldness in her eyes. She looked down at the glowing bracelet on her arm, which kept vibrating incessantly. She turned her head to look out the window, not even wanting to answer the call.

"Why aren't you answering?" A woman's hand wrapped around Wan Baiyun's neck, and she leaned her body against Wan Baiyun. "Your grandmother is looking for you."

Wan Baiyun pushed her away forcefully. "Mind your own business, and stay away from me. Don't get so close."

"Damn it." the woman grew angry too. "Wan Baiyun, are you unable to perform? I've been seducing you like this, and you don't even react. We've been dating for a month, and you haven't even touched me once. I have physical needs too, you know!"

Wan Baiyun gave her a cold glance. "Then let's break up. Goodbye."

Wan Baiyun opened the car door, transferred a breakup fee into the woman's account, waved her hand, and directly told her to get out of the car.

The woman stomped her feet in frustration as she watched Wan Baiyun drive away.

Shan Pan was fuming inside the house, pacing around the living room in a disoriented manner. She was making Shan Cong dizzy with her constant movement. Unable to bear it any longer, Shan Cong intervened. "What are you doing, spinning around like that? It's making my eyes blurry."

Shan Pan, in a huff, recounted Wan Baiyun's actions and words to Shan Cong.

Shan Cong furrowed her brows, looking skeptical. "You haven't seen Wan Baiyun in over a year, right? Well, this is just a rebellious phase she's going through, quite normal at her age. Besides, it's about time she started dating. Why are you so angry? Could it be that you like her?"

Shan Pan's face instantly turned red. "Who, who likes her? I just... I just think she used to be so good, she shouldn't have turned out like this."

Shan Cong lowered her head. "Hmm, that's true. You two used to have a good relationship."

"Yeah, that's right. I have to remind her." Shan Pan nodded earnestly, no longer pacing around the living room. She quickly went upstairs.

Once upstairs, Shan Pan thought about what Shan Cong had said. Her cheeks flushed, and she hurriedly entered the bathroom. Seeing her blushing face in the mirror, she suddenly realized something—she might actually have feelings for Wan Baiyun.

Shan Pan was always someone who excelled at expressing her emotions, unrestrained and passionate, not one to hide her feelings. After this realization, she also understood that she was still young, and even if she confessed to Wan Baiyun, she wouldn't take it seriously.

Quietly suppressing her feelings, Shan Pan decided to wait until she had matured before telling Wan Baiyun about her feelings. She began silently observing Wan Baiyun's actions.

During her observations, Shan Pan noticed that Wan Baiyun was indeed becoming worse. She started dating some notorious wealthy second-generation individuals with a bad reputation, and her friends were a mixed bunch.

Girlfriends came and went, and Wan Baiyun no longer took the initiative to hang out with Shan Pan. She was no longer the same as before.

Wan Baiyun's behavior infuriated her grandmother, leading to several heated arguments whenever she called her back.

Shan Pan was deeply concerned about this situation but had no idea about the reasons behind Wan Baiyun's change. She felt helpless.

When Shan Pan turned 16, she finally reached her differentiation. Just as the hospital's report indicated, she successfully differentiated into an A-grade Omega. Meanwhile, Wan Baiyun also achieved her long-awaited admission into the prestigious Military Academy.

After the successful differentiation, Shan Pan went to the Military Academy to find Wan Baiyun. She waited for her at the school gate.

Wan Baiyun, dressed in a white military uniform, smoking a cigarette, standing beside a stunningly beautiful woman.

The woman leaned against Wan Baiyun, while Wan Baiyun had her arm around the woman's waist. Their relationship was evident without words.

Seeing this, Shan Pan quietly hid in a corner and slipped her test report into her bag. Though the bitterness in her heart was overwhelming, she thought that Wan Baiyun's new girlfriend, dressed in the same military uniform as her, should be a suitable match. They were both soldiers.

After observing the two for a while, Wan Baiyun seemed to receive a phone call. She kissed the woman on the face and then turned to leave.

The woman stood in place, watching Wan Baiyun's figure until she completely disappeared. Then, she raised her arm and tapped on her optical brain.

At this point, Shan Pan was about to leave directly. However, a man in military uniform approached from a distance and embraced the woman.

The woman tilted her head back and kissed him passionately. They seemed very intimate.

Shan Pan was stunned by the scene, but the actions of Wan Baiyun and the woman earlier immediately made her realize that this person was two-timing. Wan Baiyun shouldn't be deceived by such a person – that was Shan Pan's immediate thought.

She opened her optical brain and took a photo of the intimate moment between the man and the woman, intending to show it to Wan Baiyun when they met later.

A week later, Wan Baiyun had some time off, and Shan Pan successfully arranged a meeting with her. She showed Wan Baiyun the photos.

Wan Baiyun's eyes flickered with a hint of disgust upon seeing them, but she quickly concealed it and smiled, patting Shan Pan's head. "You're just a kid, don't concern yourself with these things."

"I'm not a kid anymore." Shan Pan's chubby baby face had long faded, and her body had developed, showing the initial form of a young girl. Her delicate face displayed displeasure. "I have already differentiated into an Omega."

"Oh," Wan Baiyun raised an eyebrow. Indeed, when Shan Pan entered, she caught a faint scent of milk-like pheromones.

She never expected that this kid, who loved drinking milk when she was young, would emit pheromones with the same scent as milk when she grew up. Wan Baiyun chuckled inwardly, finding it quite amusing.

"Hey, why aren't you surprised at all?" Shan Pan furrowed her brow, puffing up her cheeks in annoyance.

"I smelled it." Wan Baiyun took a sip of water. "The scent of milk."

  1. Shan Pan still deserve better or a better version of baiyun?

    1. Tldr: Definitely not, she "helped" drugging Wan Baiyun by not telling her, raped and forced married her afterwards. She isn't the innocent saint we were first shown, who was abused by her alpha.
Wan Baiyu clearly deserves a better grandmother than this old hag. Wan Baiyun isn't flawless and should have shown her care to Shan Pan and the unborn baby after she knows about the pregnancy and didn't do the clubbing shit or doing in secret.
Shan Pan on the other side could have also gone to prison just like the royals who took advantage of betas, as she did the same but with an alpha, but I guess "all for the birth-rate".
From an objective standpoint they both did a lot of wrongdoings, and you can value them as you wish but they both deserve hardship before earning a happy end.
Their story isn't finished yet so maybe my points are proven wrong, for example Wan Baiyun didn't take the drugs, what would make her take advantage of Shan Pan and not as we know the other way around.
Shan Pan also never stood up for her against her abusive Grandmother, or tried to talk it all out clearly, (e.g. missing pheromones , she is a medical girl, so she should know, wan Baiyun didn't knew it wasn't enough what she gave Shan Pan) what could have resolved a lot of their quarrels and problems.

Sorry for the long comment but Wan Baiyun was always humiliated and used by everyone, Grandmother, friend, comments, etc., so she needed one time someone who defended her, she didn't get a thank you or even a sign of love/affection towards her.

    2. Tharkun truly have an Heroic Spirit, Wan Baiyun life was very shity, without care from her only live kin, forced to go to the military and with horrible companionships.

The sin Shan Pang made was being to submissive, the "good girl" facade impose her to be only a toy and a lap dog, not only to Wan Baiyun, but also to everyone else
