CHAPTER 28
When Guan Han got into the car, Qin Yinong reached out and pulled her in, scanning her up and down without leaving any traces. She breathed a sigh of relief and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
The situation outside was chaotic, and Qin Yinong was worried that Guan Han might have been jostled or hurt on her way over.
"I'm fine." Guan Han let out a breath and tidied her disheveled hair before saying, "Principal Sun said he has sent two security teams over. He asked us to wait in the car for a while."
Qin Yinong nodded and didn't say anything to blame Principal Sun.
Through the car window, they could faintly hear the commotion outside. Qin Yinong handed the open brochure in her hand to Guan Han and instructed her, "Block the window with this." She paused for a moment, looked down with weariness, and said, "Next time, let's get a curtain that can be pulled down."
It was always troublesome to deal with these situations once they returned to the country. They would encounter blockades wherever they went.
Guan Han nodded and made a mental note.
She pressed one hand against the window, using the brochure to block the cameras that couldn't really capture anything. Her gaze swept over Qin Yinong's half-lowered eyelids, and she whispered, "I saw Miss Yao outside."
Qin Yinong didn't lift her gaze. It was her who asked Guan Han to go and take a look. Was it not normal for her to see Tang Ruoyao?
Guan Han added, "She's still outside right now."
Qin Yinong's eyelashes trembled lightly, and she froze. "What did you say?" Her gaze followed as she scanned outside through the car window, but there were still many journalists surrounding the car, and she couldn't see anything.
Guan Han said, "At first, I couldn't get in, but Miss Yao revealed her identity outside and led some of the journalists away."
Qin Yinong asked, "How did she end up here?"
Guan Han glanced at her and carefully said, "At first, she was on the other side of the road. When things were about to escalate, it seems she saw your car and chased after it. Then, I think she saw that you were trapped and came out to help."
Qin Yinong was speechless.
"She recognizes my car?"
"I'm not sure." Guan Han shook her head, "She probably doesn't recognize it."
"Then she..." Qin Yinong stopped mid-sentence, let it be. Perhaps she had guessed correctly.
After treating her like this, how could Tang Ruoyao still be so persistent?
Qin Yinong pinched her brow and called out to Guan Han, "Call Principal Sun and ask him to send a team to rescue Yao Yao first." The media wouldn't show any mercy just because Tang Ruoyao wasn't Qin Yinong, especially since she hadn't brought any bodyguards or assistants. It would be reckless.
"What about you..." Guan Han hesitated. She was worried that with fewer people, Qin Yinong wouldn't be able to escape.
Qin Yinong waved her hand, indifferent. "It's not the first or second time. I'll be careful."
Guan Han made the call.
As Qin Yinong expected, Tang Ruoyao was indeed trapped.
She had come out alone and was instantly engulfed by the crowd. Relying on the built-in-air conditioning cooling effect to prevent those people from getting too close, but she was still struggling and couldn't move. Her attitude towards the media had always been casual, depending on the questions they asked and her own mood at the time. Because Guan Han had successfully gotten into the car, even though she was currently trapped here, she was in a pleasant mood, delivering witty and humorous remarks.
"May I ask why Ruoyao suddenly appear here?"
"My roommate asked me to come out and buy a bottle of soy sauce."
"What is your relationship with Qin Yinong, the movie star?"
"The relationship of being trapped together by all of you."
"The timing of your appearance is so coincidental. Are you here to help Qin Yinong out of the situation?"
"With such a vivid imagination, it's a pity you're not a novelist."
.....
In most cases, Tang Ruoyao's mood was not good, so she didn't have a good expression when facing the entertainment media. Today was an exception. The observing journalists saw that the interviews here were going so smoothly, especially the front-row journalists who kept clicking their cameras and eagerly held their voice recorders. Their eyes were filled with envy, and when they glanced at the closed doors of the car, they gritted their teeth and surged towards Tang Ruoyao.
The crowd around Tang Ruoyao grew larger and larger, and they tried their best to avoid pushing, but occasionally a voice recorder would hit her shoulder or face.
She became a small dot in the center of the crowd, as if she could be swallowed up at any moment.
The bodyguards outside the car quietly reported the situation outside, and Qin Yinong's eyes flickered. She signaled to Guan Han, who firmly held onto the backseat door handle. The security team was taking too long to arrive, and Qin Yinong couldn't let Tang Ruoyao continue to shield her like this.
"She's coming out." Guan Han notified the outside security team through the Bluetooth earpiece.
The bodyguards composed themselves, preparing for action.
Just as Guan Han was about to open the door, one of the bodyguards looked into the distance and lowered his voice, saying, "It seems like the people around Miss Tang are dispersing a bit."
Guan Han paused in her actions, "What? Are you sure you're not mistaken?" The media wouldn't have a change of heart so easily, especially they don't have a conscience as well.
The bodyguard said, "The crowd is decreasing." He squinted his eyes to confirm, "It seems like new people have arrived."
Wen Shuxian stood outside the crowd, and Fu Yujun glanced at her. Wen Shuxian nodded, then crossed her arms and shouted, "What are you all doing? How did the school let you people in?!"
Wen Shuxian and Tang Ruoyao were not taking the same route. Tang Ruoyao was the aloof and cold film star who was not interested in worldly matters. If it weren't for her youth, beauty, and the rise of the influencer era, she wouldn't have gained such high popularity. Wen Shuxian, on the other hand, was a popular young actress in the television industry. Although her acting skills were commendable, she currently followed the path of online popularity. She had been through multiple waves of online criticism and was fearless. Tang Ruoyao had the advantage in awards and the quality of her work, but Wen Shuxian surpassed her in terms of fame and fan base.
Naturally, Wen Shuxian had a higher entertainment news value than Tang Ruoyao, especially with Fu Yujun standing beside her. Fu Yujun played the role of the cunning empress in this year's hit drama "Da Tang," which had received rave reviews and garnered a large number of fans.
So when Wen Shuxian shouted, a large group of journalists swarmed towards her.
With the pressure around Tang Ruoyao suddenly alleviated, she turned her head, and just as a voice recorder was about to reach her mouth, a hand swiftly intercepted and pushed it away. Tang Ruoyao turned to look and saw Cui Jiaran taking advantage of the gap in the crowd to squeeze in and stand beside her.
Cui Jiaran smiled at her, revealing shallow dimples. Tang Ruoyao returned the smile, feeling more at ease with someone protecting her. She regained her composure and dealt with the media with ease.
The journalists in the parking lot were divided into three groups, none of which posed a threat. Qin Yinong sat back down in the car, subtly exhaling a breath and wiping the sweat from her palms. Her nervous heartbeat gradually calmed down.
The school's security team arrived, and following Qin Yinong's instructions, they first went to help Tang Ruoyao get out of the situation. Wen Shuxian was instantly stunned and said, "No way, why?" According to the distance, they should have helped her first. Why were they treating them differently?
Fu Yujun tiptoed, peering over the crowded heads and casting a glance at the car that remained motionless.
Qin Yinong learned that Tang Ruoyao's roommate was also helping to diffuse the situation, so she ordered the security team to turn around and let Wen Shuxian and Fu Yujun break free from the media. The captain of the security team, in a gentle tone, suggested to the occupants of Room 405, "It's best for you to go to the auditorium first. It's too chaotic here, and we might not be able to take care of you in a moment."
Wouldn't that mean she wouldn't be able to see Qin Yinong?
Tang Ruoyao pursed her lips, about to speak.
Fu Yujun caught her hesitation and her eyes flickered.
The straightforward Wen Shuxian spoke cheerfully, "We just want to see Qin Yinong, the famous actress. Don't worry, we'll take care of ourselves."
The captain of the security team couldn't force them to go inside, so he solemnly advised, "Keep your distance."
Wen Shuxian nodded and pulled a few roommates back a few steps to show their cooperation.
The captain of the security team nodded and led the team to the most crowded area, creating a path as they went.
Room 405 stood on a slightly higher ground near the flower bed, craning their necks in anticipation.
Wen Shuxian was the first to climb up. With one hand placed on her forehead, she looked down at the swarm of journalists, their frenzy and madness even more awe-inspiring from the elevated position. Her eyes widened, and she gasped in astonishment, "These journalists are crazy, like a cult. I've never seen such a massive scene before."
Cui Jiaran whispered, "That's Qin Yinong." Her tone was naturally filled with admiration and reverence, as if no matter how exaggerated the situation was, it wouldn't be surprising when it came to Qin Yinong.
Tang Ruoyao suddenly felt a strange sensation in her heart.
The way she looked at Qin Yinong was different from how others looked at her. This difference made her feel peculiar when she heard others talking about Qin Yinong. There was a hint of delight, a touch of pride, and an indescribable ambiguity.
The corners of her lips unconsciously curled up.
Fu Yujun, who had been attentively observing her, vaguely caught something. Her thoughts raced, and her eyes trembled with intensity in her heart. She quickly averted her gaze, concealing the astonishment and shock that flashed through her eyes.
Tang Ruoyao, unexpectedly...
Wen Shuxian couldn't control her excitement and screamed, "Ah! She's coming out!"
The three of them looked over together.
The security guards struggled to hold the journalists at the periphery. while the six bodyguards stood facing each others in pairs, hands behind their backs, with a stern expression, forming a line outside the car. The astute and capable assistant came down and slightly bowed, casting a glance towards the car.
Fu Yujun paused for a moment when she saw the assistant's face. She recognized them; this person had appeared on the campus road earlier.
A foot gradually stepped out of the car.
A white, single-strap high-heeled sandal landed on the cement floor, the sole as white as snow, the toes as beautiful as jade. Half of an exquisite ankle and fair, delicate calf were faintly visible beneath the swaying red dress.
Time stood still for two seconds, then quickly resumed its flow. The crowd was in turmoil, and the shutter sounds of the flashing cameras were so intense that they made one's ears ring.
Even Wen Shuxian, who was standing far away, couldn't help but cover her ears.
Due to the perspective, the people near the flower bed couldn't see Qin Yinong's face directly; they could only see her profile.
The woman in the red dress was vibrant, her voluminous and soft long curls casually scattered, revealing glimpses of her bare, fair, and sensual back as she walked. The delicate butterfly-like bones subtly protruded, as if a pair of winged butterflies were quietly resting upon them, ready to take flight into the sky at any moment. The contours of her spine undulated like snow-white mountains, disappearing into the waistband, concealing the breathtaking beauty.
Tang Ruoyao discreetly furrowed her brows, noticing her roommates' eyes that seemed as if they wanted to stick to Qin Yinong's back. The lines on her forehead became even more apparent.
Qin Yinong stepped out of the car, a composed and gentle smile on her face as she gracefully waved her hand in greeting. Guan Han followed closely behind her, a couple of steps away, while the bodyguards formed a protective line on either side. Surrounding them were fervent journalists holding cameras, and the flashing lights intermingled, transforming the ordinary cement road into the grandeur of an international awards ceremony red carpet.
Wen Shuxian and Cui Jiaran were completely stunned.
Even the usually composed Fu Yujun couldn't tear her gaze away.
Tang Ruoyao saw the direction Qin Yinong was heading and swiftly leaped down from the flower bed, running towards her with determination.
"Tang Tang! Where are you going?!" Fu Yujun reacted first and chased after her, while the other two roommates reluctantly shifted their gaze away from Qin Yinong and followed suit.
Tang Ruoyao arrived ahead of everyone else at the entrance to the auditorium where Qin Yinong was going. She showed her student ID, joining the other students who had come running upon hearing the news. Being somewhat famous herself and sharing the same dormitory, they easily secured the best positions in the front row to observe.
Only media personal with invitations were allowed inside the auditorium, so there were many journalists left outside the parking lot. As they moved deeper inside, the crowd thinned out.
Media journalists, security guards, and bodyguards who had received permission surrounded Qin Yinong like stars and moon as she entered. Facing the various gazes of the crowd, Qin Yinong maintained her enchanting smile and walked gracefully on the pre-laid red carpet.
She was getting closer to Tang Ruoyao, so close that it felt as if she could sense her faint and sweet breath.
Tang Ruoyao's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and even her breathing became uneasy.
Qin Yinong noticed Tang Ruoyao in her line of sight but remained calm, her fingers gripping her bag tightly.
Fu Yujun .. will know about this cp first .. lol
