CHAPTER 2

Xie Shuyu straightened her back slightly, unconsciously, as if to bolster her own presence, refusing to concede. Her tone tightened as she said stiffly, "I didn't ignore you." "Then why didn't you call me back?" Wen Wan was the first to soften, though her tone wasn't exactly coaxing. Xie Shuyu knew that was just how she talked, the same with everyone. Three parts warmth, three parts teasing, four parts insincerity. Xie Shuyu had once believed she was special, exempt from the need for Wen Wan's pretense. But she'd since realized it was all the same. "Why aren't you saying anything?" Wen Wan asked from the other end of the line. Snapping back to the present, Xie Shuyu tapped her fingers lightly on the table, mimicking her approach, offering a sweet word first. "I was thinking I'd call you after dinner." "You're bluffing me. After dinner you'll say you're at work, then after work you'll say you'r...

The alarm went off for the third time. Xie Shuyu's hand fumbled under the pillow to silence it, then she curled up, hugging the blanket tight, trying to slip back into her dream. The woman's warm, moist lips seemed to still linger on her cheek, breath scorching her earlobe, fragrant silky hair spread across the hollow of her neck. She unconsciously arched her body, her fingertips brushing against a patch of warm, slick skin. The phone notification blared sharply, those research types knew exactly how sensitive the human ear is to sound. The auditory cortex transmitted pain straight through the pillow, undiminished. Xie Shuyu jolted awake. Unwilling to let go, she tried to block out all external interference, desperately reaching back into the crumbling dream, chasing after it with urgency, but it was futile. The dream shattered. The neighbors had even started renovations, drill sounds boring into her temples from every direction. Finally manage to have a decent $ex dream, and ...

Final Chapter Clouds veiled the mist, immortal energy swirled. The main peak of Chonghua Sect, Lianhua Peak. "Master." Though already the esteemed chief disciple of the Chonghua Sword Sect's leader, Lu Xianrou remained true to her calm and unadorned nature, dressed in the standard white robes, carrying a weathered ancient sword, with ink-black hair cascading to her waist and delicate features, she somehow managed to elevate the simple Chonghua white attire into something breathtakingly elegant. Over a decade had passed since that farce, which the leaders of the five major sects had jointly sealed with a gag order, leaving the world's cultivators to speak of it only in hushed tones. For long-lived high-level cultivators, it was but the blink of an eye, yet for those who had lost something irreplaceable, it felt like an eternity of t0rment. Still, they eventually learned to endure each silent night, where only the beat!ng of their own hearts could be heard, gazing cal...

I Love You "Boom!" After an earth-shattering explosion, a black and a golden sword light abruptly separated, hanging silently in mid-air. The onlookers all felt a sharp pain in their chests, struck by the invisible sword energy that had leaked from the fierce battle. Their minds reeled, and they staggered backward. Ye Zhiqiu raised her hand and grasped the black broadsword, flicking it in a swift arc. With her left thumb, she slowly wiped away a trace of bl0od from the corner of her lips and smiled softly. "It's been so many years since I last sparred with you, Senior Brother. How nostalgic." It had been a long time since they had crossed swords, and she hadn't expected his skills to have improved so profoundly. It truly took her by surprise. Gui Hongzi These two were none other than Su Yan and Tong Tong, who had just fled from the Qianyu Sect. The moment they landed, they were both startled by the strange phenomenon in the sky. "Where is this? Chonghua?" Tong Tong clung to Su Yan's neck, gazing worriedly at the thickening clouds above. "Oh, this is where I used to cultivate. The water of this Heavenly Pool has miraculous effects for consolidating cultivation... but why has the pool dried up?" Su Yan carefully examined the exposed white rocks beneath their feet, now drained of water. The surface was crisscrossed with strange cracks, which upon closer inspection resembled ancient runes, bearing a striking resemblance to the totems they had seen before the Demon Emperor's tomb. The Fall of the Main Peak Chonghua Sect, Qiuye Peak, Jiuhan Palace. "Sect Leader, something terrible has happened!" A young disciple in a light blue robe, his hair tied in a Daoist bun, stumbled across the long white jade steps leading to Qiuye Peak. He rushed through the layered archways and courtyards of the Jiuhan Palace, not stopping until he reached the inner courtyard. Along the way, he caused a commotion, startling a row of leisurely spirit birds and immortal fowl. Long before reaching the main hall, he began shouting frantically, showing none of the dignified manners usually instilled by the teaching masters. Yet, at this moment, no one had the leisure to stop him. As he stumbled onto the stone steps outside the sect leader's private quarters, a place disciples were normally forbidden to enter, a cold, frosty voice suddenly rang out. Clear and devoid of any worldly warmth, it struck his ears like a spring thunderclap, startling him into a shiver: "What nons...
