Chapter 327: Fu Yujun & Guan Han [24]
After listening to her, Fu Yujun remained silent for a long while before sighing and saying, "You've spoken more today than you usually do in an entire year."
She turned to face Guan Han, her thumb gently caressing the side of Guan Han's face with affection.
The fact that the usually silent Guan Han had uncharacteristically spoken at length was enough proof of her affection and seriousness about their relationship. Realizing that her own feelings weren't a burden to Guan Han, the knot in Fu Yujun's heart instantly loosened.
The moon was hers.
Guan Han resisted the ticklish sensation from her fingers, letting out a soft "Mm," and relaxed her shoulders slightly. "I'm so tired," she said.
She truly disliked talking, but she had to speak up to resolve issues—otherwise, the resulting troubles would exhaust her even more. Once she identified a problem, she saw no reason to delay addressing it. Whether in work or relationships, Manager Guan adhered to the principle of keeping things simple and hassle-free.
Fu Yujun smiled, her eyes crinkling. "Then rest for a while," she said, maintaining her position as she gently pressed Guan Han's face against her chest.
Since Fu Yujun was sitting on Guan Han's lap, she was slightly higher. Caught off guard, Guan Han found herself buried in an exceptionally soft place, like cotton candy, with a sweet fragrance lingering around her nose. She held her breath.
Was Fu Yujun doing this on purpose?
Fu Yujun truly hadn't meant to. It was just a casual movement, but her cheeks flushed slightly when she realized what had happened. Still, she didn't push Guan Han away.
Guan Han silently compared the sensations Fu Yujun evoked with those from her unicorn plushie at home, concluding that Fu Yujun was equivalent to ten unicorns.
Once she had rested enough, Guan Han took Fu Yujun's temperature one last time. Finding nothing amiss, she said, "I'm going home."
Fu Yujun replied, "Wait a moment."
Guan Han: "?"
Fu Yujun: "We haven't finished our conversation yet."
Guan Han looked at her with an expression of utter despair.
More talking? She had already used up a month's worth of words. If this continued, she would run out of energy and shut down automatically.
Since their earlier conversation, her expressions had become much more animated. Fu Yujun smiled again, her voice gentle. "I know you don't want to talk. How about I speak, and you just listen? Is that okay?"
Guan Han reluctantly nodded.
Fu Yujun pulled her onto the sofa to sit side by side, playing with Guan Han's slender, pale fingers with one hand. "I've liked you for so long. Even though you've reciprocated my feelings, I'm still afraid of losing you. This mindset won't change overnight, and I'll do my best to work on it. But you also need to give me honest feedback—be angry when you're angry, happy when you're happy, and if there's anything about me that bothers you, just say it. Let's both be straightforward with each other."
Guan Han looked at her and negotiated, "Can I type it out?"
Fu Yujun: "...Sure." Just how much did she dislike talking? Did martial artists practice vows of silence too?
Fu Yujun continued, "The words you said when you proposed we start dating left a huge psychological shadow on me—the part about breaking up anytime."
Guan Han explained, "I was preparing for the worst-case scenario. Fu Yujun wrapped her other arm around Guan Han's neck, acting cute, "I don't care. I've suffered severe psychological trauma, and only a kiss can make it better."
Guan Han: "..."
Fu Yujun leaned in and planted a loud kiss on Guan Han's cheek herself. "Let me propose a solution. Do you know how soccer matches work? The referee shows a yellow card to warn a player for a foul. Two yellow cards result in a red card, and the player is sent off."
"Mm."
"If I ever cross your boundaries and you get extremely angry, unable to forgive me, give me a yellow card warning first. I'll learn my lesson and mend my ways."
Guan Han didn't answer but instead asked her, "Do you know about the NBA?"
"Yes, I do."
"In the NBA, a player is only ejected after accumulating six fouls."
Fu Yujun's eyes lit up, and she immediately changed her mind. "Then let's switch to the NBA rules."
Guan Han sighed.
Fu Yujun pursed her lips, a hint of unease appearing on her face. "What's wrong?"
Guan Han said, "Referees don't step onto the court."
Fu Yujun seemed to understand but not entirely.
"..." Guan Han didn't understand why Fu Yujun's sharp mind had turned to mush ever since they started dating. Even she, a complete novice in love, could grasp this concept, yet it seemed so hard for Fu Yujun to understand.
Guan Han took a moment to mentally prepare herself, borrowing patience from the months ahead, and said gently, "Only players can play on the court. They're the ones fighting side by side."
She looked at Fu Yujun. If she still didn't get it, Guan Han would seriously have to reconsider their relationship—it seemed there was a barrier between them.
Fu Yujun let out a soft sigh and said, "I understand." She had still instinctively handed the reins to Guan Han, letting her act as the referee who could blow the whistle at any moment. But love is a two-person affair; they were teammates with the same goal, and fighting alone was meaningless.
Guan Han closed her eyes for a long moment, then opened them again, signaling her agreement.
When Guan Han had set those conditions, she had truly intended to keep the upper hand firmly in her grasp. This relationship had started because of her, and it would end because of her, too. She saw herself as both player and referee, observing and weighing the necessity of this relationship from a god's-eye view.
But today's episode had awakened her—she cared about Fu Yujun more than she had realized. She didn't want Fu Yujun to suffer from a fever at home without her knowing; she didn't want her to have nightmares in the middle of the night and be afraid to call; she didn't want her to rush out barefoot just to catch a glimpse of her, to make sure she hadn't left without a word.
Even though there were still many things she couldn't figure out, it didn't matter. She could step onto the field and play the game herself. If it didn't work out, at least she wouldn't have regrets.
Most importantly, she never wanted to see Fu Yujun cry again—it shattered her heart.
She could let go of the control she had always held onto and let Fu Yujun share the helm with her, navigating through the storms that might arise on the dark sea.
Guan Han closed her eyes to rest.
Fu Yujun rested her head on Guan Han's shoulder, looking up at her, and took a tentative step toward the edge of danger. "Could you stay tonight?" After a pause, she added, "I still feel a bit unwell. What if my fever spikes again in the middle of the night?"
"Okay."
"Can we share the same bed?"
"..." Guan Han fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "Let me think about it."
They were clearly still a long way from being a normal couple, but even the tiniest progress was still progress.
"Show me the form tomorrow," Fu Yujun remembered, determined to see how Guan Xiao Han had drafted their "relationship contract."
"The day after tomorrow. Aren't you staying tonight?"
"Fine."
Getting Guan Han to speak was more exhausting than martial arts training. She slumped on the sofa, not wanting to lift a single finger.
Fu Yujun took her hand, kissing from the fingertips to the back of her hand, then the palm, moving upward to the wrist—each kiss as light as a feather. Guan Han's eyelids fluttered wearily, her thumb lifting to press softly against Fu Yujun's plump lips.
Fu Yujun knelt on one knee beside her, leaning in to capture her lips before trailing kisses to the back of her ear, gently nibbling on the woman's earlobe.
It was a reenactment of that night in Bali.
Fu Yujun buried her face in the curve of Guan Han's neck, leaving a trail of damp kisses in her wake.
Guan Han's fair, slender neck arched into an elegant curve as she pushed lightly at the mischievous head, her resistance half-hearted, a blend of refusal and invitation.
Fu Yujun nipped gently at her smooth chin before moving up to claim her lips again.
After a breathless, seemingly endless kiss, they parted, foreheads pressed together, their ragged breaths echoing in the living room.
Guan Han cupped Fu Yujun's face, tilting her head to deliver another fierce, possessive kiss.
In the rare moments when Guan Han took the initiative, her kisses were always filled with a raw, possessive intensity—a stark contrast to her usual icy demeanor. It wasn't that she couldn't express herself; she simply needed emotional resonance and guidance.
Fu Yujun felt as if she were on the verge of collapse. Only then did Guan Han reluctantly release her, gently moistening the other woman's lips.
Fu Yujun, stirred with desire, leaned in closer, nuzzling her cheek with the tip of her nose. Kneeling before Guan Han, her eyes shimmered with emotion, the flushed corners betraying her longing.
It had been too long since the last time.
A flicker of hesitation crossed Guan Han's eyes. Silently, she took Fu Yujun's hand and guided it toward herself.
Unexpectedly, Fu Yujun resisted.
Guan Han looked at her, puzzled.
"Do you not want to?" Fu Yujun asked.
Guan Han's brows furrowed and relaxed, uncertainty lacing her voice as she replied, "I don't know."
Back when they weren't officially together, Guan Han had allowed herself to drown in the moment, driven purely by instinct, free of any burden. If she had to compare it to something, it was like a fleeting encounter with an acquaintance—a spark ignited by passion, not much different from a casual fling.
But now, with a defined relationship between them, Guan Han couldn't as easily surrender to mere physical desire. She wanted their int!macy to feel natural, to flow effortlessly from their emotional connection. At this moment, she clearly wasn't ready—the emotional depth wasn't quite there yet.
But since they were girlfriends now, and Fu Yujun had needs—and it wasn't as if Guan Han felt nothing during their moments together—why should she refuse? Fu Yujun loved her so much; wasn't it natural for her to want to sleep with her? Shouldn't she fulfill that desire? Even if she felt nothing, shouldn't she still agree?
Guan Han's expression shifted, her brows unconsciously knitting into a small frown.
Fu Yujun gently smoothed the crease on her forehead and asked softly, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing." Guan Han murmured absently, lost in her thoughts.
Fu Yujun sighed inwardly and cupped Guan Han's face.
Just then, Guan Han seemed to reach a decision, her voice firm as she declared, "Okay."
Fu Yujun was taken aback. "Okay what?"
Guan Han replied, "Didn't you want to sleep with me? I agree."
Fu Yujun: "!!!"
Guan Han reached out to untie Fu Yujun's robe, but Fu Yujun reacted swiftly, pulling back so abruptly she nearly knocked into the coffee table behind her. Clutching the collar of her robe tightly, she stared in alarm and asked, "What are you doing?!"
Guan Han tilted her head slightly. "You're the one who wants it, yet you're also the one avoiding me. What exactly are you trying to do?"
Never try to guess the thoughts of a woman in love.
Fu Yujun kept backing away until she was three or four meters distant before saying, "First, tell me what you've been thinking. Why did you change your mind?"
"Is it important?"
"Yes."
"Can't we talk after we're done?" Guan Han stared intently at Fu Yujun's hand, which was tightly gripping her collar.
Fu Yujun wavered for a moment but steadied herself and insisted, "No!"
Guan Han's shoulders slumped completely.
If things could be resolved through action, why bother with words?
Fu Yujun: "???"
Guan Han took a deep breath and calmly explained as briefly as possible, "Because we're lovers. Your request is reasonable and justified, so I shouldn't refuse."
Fu Yujun looked at her with disbelief, then after a long pause, asked softly, "Is this listed as an item in your checklist?"
Guan Han didn't respond, but her slightly widened eyes betrayed her thoughts: How did you know?
Fu Yujun didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
She realized that this rigid partner of hers had far too many notions that needed correcting. How could someone use duty and obligation to box themselves into a relationship, meticulously following a checklist to fall in love?
Fu Yujun gave her an example of marital r@pe.
If Guan Han's logic held, the obligations outlined in a marriage certificate would include satisfying a spouse's physical needs, thereby eliminating the crime of non-consensual interc0urse. How could it be that just because they were girlfriends, such a thing became mandatory?
Guan Han, who had been silently sipping water, murmured softly, "That's not it."
"What?"
Guan Han pursed her lips, her thumb stroking the glass, and said with her head lowered, "You're different."
Fu Yujun's gaze softened. "Hmm?"
Guan Han looked up and said earnestly, "You like me so much. You pursued me for years and even agreed to such harsh conditions. I can't just take advantage of you. So, as long as I can give it, I'll give you everything."
Fu Yujun felt as if she had just taken a bite of lemon-flavored ice cream—sweet, yet tinged with bitterness.
So, both of them were fools in love, each putting the other before themselves, forgetting that to love someone, one must first learn to respect and cherish oneself.
It's easy to see things clearly when you're not involved, but when it's your turn, you tread carefully, afraid of making a wrong move.
Fu Yujun picked up the water pitcher and added some water to Guan Han's glass. When she went to pour some for herself, Guan Han stopped her. "You have a cold, and you're drinking cold water? I'll get you some from the kitchen."
Fu Yujun smiled. "Okay."
Guan Han brought her a cup of hot water. Fu Yujun took a sip—the temperature was just right—and asked, "Did you test the water temperature?"
Guan Han nodded.
Fu Yujun grinned. "How did you test it? With your mouth? Does that mean we indirectly kissed?"
They had already kissed directly countless times, so Fu Yujun's excitement over an indirect kiss was baffling. Guan Han clarified bluntly, "No, I poured a little on the back of my hand."
Fu Yujun whined, "Are you disgusted with me?"
Guan Han: "..."
That cheeky attitude of hers made Guan Han's fingers itch, wanting to pinch her ear.
Fu Yujun stopped her teasing immediately, holding her water glass with both hands as she carefully chose her words. "I'm actually not that impatient. We just got together, and I'm not in a rush to do... that kind of thing."
Guan Han reminded her expressionlessly, "On the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, the first day you came back from vacation, you asked me to come to your place."
"..." Fu Yujun cleared her throat. "I was just joking with you."
Guan Han didn't hold back: "Heh." Who was it that had to run to the bathroom to clean up in the middle of kissing? The flood was nearly washing away the Dragon King's temple, and yet here she was bragging without shame.
Fu Yujun burst out laughing.
"What are you laughing at?"
Fu Yujun's eyes curved like crescent moons. "I like you like this too, rather than always wearing a perfect mask around me."
The corners of Guan Han's lips lifted slightly as she turned her face away.
Fu Yujun said, "Turn back around. It's rare to see you smile genuinely, and now you're hiding from me."
Guan Han slowly turned back, her lips pressed tightly together.
Fu Yujun teased, "Are you shy?"
A flicker of annoyance crossed Guan Han's brow.
Fu Yujun looked at her playfully. "Angry from embarrassment?"
A vein twitched on Guan Han's forehead. She took a deep breath and picked up her glass to drink.
Before she could truly get angry, Fu Yujun chuckled and coughed lightly, quickly changing the subject. "Let's make a promise. From today on, no more acting in front of each other. Say whatever you want, or... you can type it too."
Caught off guard, Guan Han choked on her water.
Fu Yujun handed her a tissue, her face full of concern. "Darling, why are you so careless? Here, let me lick it for you, my sweetheart."
Guan Han: "..."
She realized she still had much to learn about Fu Yujun, but... it was kind of cute.
Guan Han couldn't help but laugh, turning away again.
When she turned back, her expression had returned to normal. "I need to work."
Fu Yujun fetched the briefcase from the other sofa, pulled out the laptop, and handed it to her. "Your computer."
The series of movements flowed smoothly, as natural as if she had done it a thousand times.
Guan Han's fingers curled involuntarily before she took it, politely saying, "Thank you."
Fu Yujun smiled. "Do you usually work at this time when you're at home?"
"Yes."
"Then would you like to use the study? My study is quite spacious, with good lighting and fast internet."
Guan Han hesitated but finally agreed. "Okay."
Fu Yujun was overjoyed, eagerly leading her to the study. She cleared her own books from the desk, making most of the space available for Guan Han.
Guan Han nodded. "Thank you."
Fu Yujun placed her hand over Guan Han's, which was resting on the desk, and looked into her eyes. "You don't need to thank me."
Guan Han paused for a few seconds before replying, "Okay."
"I won't disturb you then. I'm going to take a shower and read in the living room. Let me know when you're done." Fu Yujun leaned down to kiss her cheek, pulled a book from the shelf, and paused at the door. "Would you like some milk?"
Guan Han parted her lips, about to refuse.
Fu Yujun looked at her with pleading eyes.
Guan Han swallowed her refusal and said softly, "Okay."
"Is warm milk alright?"
"Yes."
"Then I'll go get it."
Guan Han stared at the closed study door for a moment before focusing on her computer screen. Her mind wandered several times before Fu Yujun returned with the milk.
Without saying much, she gently placed the milk beside Guan Han's hand.
Guan Han: "Thank—"
Under Fu Yujun's steady gaze, Guan Han promptly stopped speaking, but her lips moved again, unsure of what to say next.
Fu Yujun rested one hand on the armrest of the chair, half-encircling Guan Han in her embrace, and leaned down to kiss her gently.
Since they had started dating, whenever they had private moments together, they would inevitably kiss. Most of the time, Fu Yujun encouraged Guan Han to take the initiative, but on rare occasions, Fu Yujun would be the one to kiss her. Her kissing skills were excellent, making it a comfortable and enjoyable experience for Guan Han.
But never before had Guan Han felt as she did during their kisses tonight—as if Fu Yujun's lips had touched her very soul. Everything suppressed, hidden, and unknown within her trembled in response.
The kisses in the kitchen and living room had been passionate, which was understandable. But now, even though Fu Yujun was only gently and tenderly brushing her lips without any further exploration, Guan Han felt her limbs go weak, melting into the chair, more immersed than she had been during the previous two kisses.
Fu Yujun ended the kiss with a final peck on Guan Han's lips before leaving the study, giving her space to work.
Guan Han didn't show any reaction while Fu Yujun was still there. It was only long after she had left that Guan Han slowly regained her composure, sitting up properly in the chair.
As she scrolled through work emails on her computer screen, Guan Han propped her chin on one hand, her mind repeatedly replaying the moments: Fu Yujun walking in with a glass of milk, leaning down to kiss her, gazing at her with tender affection, and smiling with eyes that sparkled.
Is this what being in love feels like? Even with just a wall between them, she couldn't stop thinking about her.
Time passed minute by minute.
Hearing a sound nearby, Fu Yujun immediately looked up toward the study, her eyes brimming with delight. Guan Han, holding her laptop in one arm, paused briefly upon meeting her gaze before calmly walking over, placing the laptop back into her bag, and saying, "I'm done with work."
Her eyes held a hint of barely noticeable guilt.
She had been so preoccupied with thoughts of Fu Yujun that her productivity had plummeted. In truth, there wasn't anything urgent to handle—she simply had a habit of summarizing her day and planning for the next before bed. Since her mind was elsewhere, she decided to wrap things up early.
Fu Yujun placed a bookmark in her book and set it on the coffee table.
"Ready to sleep?"
"...Mm."
Fu Yujun took her hand, leading her back to the bedroom as if guiding a child, and turned off the living room lights.
When Fu Yujun brought her toiletries from the guest room, Guan Han noticed she had quietly prepared matching couples' items again. Fu Yujun squeezed toothpaste onto her electric toothbrush and handed it to her.
She seemed intent on standing there and watching her brush her teeth. Guan Han paused, her expression slightly awkward, and said, "Um... could you..."
As if snapping out of a trance, Fu Yujun reined in her infatuated gaze, cleared her throat awkwardly, and said, "I'll wait outside for you."
Guan Han watched her leave, then pressed the button on her toothbrush, the buzzing sound filling the room as she began brushing.
Fu Yujun stood not far from the doorway, her back turned, pacing restlessly in a small area—a far cry from her usual calm and composed demeanor.
Guan Han averted her gaze, then inadvertently glanced up and caught sight of a smiling stranger in the mirror. She froze for a moment, reaching up to touch the corners of her upturned eyes. Lowering her gaze, she shook her head in resignation.
Fu Yujun felt as if she were experiencing first love all over again, her heart and eyes filled entirely with the other person. Hearing the electric toothbrush stop vibrating, she couldn't resist rushing in impatiently. Meeting Guan Han's puzzled gaze, she awkwardly tried to cover up by explaining, "I... um, came to wash my hands. I don't know what I touched, but my hands feel a bit sticky."
Guan Han nodded understandingly and moved aside to make room at the sink.
Fu Yujun held her hands under the running faucet, head lowered. Even without looking, she knew her face was flushed, and her ears were surely bright red as well.
"I'm done washing," Fu Yujun murmured softly, not daring to meet Guan Han's eyes the entire time. She hurriedly left the bathroom that kept making her temperature rise, moving so quickly that she bumped her side against the doorframe on her way out.
"I'm fine!" Fu Yujun immediately exclaimed.
Guan Han: "..."
Guan Han leisurely washed her own face, using a soft tissue to pat her skin dry.
As soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, Guan Han saw Fu Yujun standing by the dressing table, which was covered with various high-end skincare products. Her face was still flushed, her teeth lightly biting her lower lip, and she remained silent.
Guan Han sat down at the dressing table and casually asked, "Which one works best?"
Fu Yujun immediately launched into an enthusiastic explanation like a skincare salesperson, chattering nonstop.
Guan Han: "..."
Had her girlfriend lost her mind?
Guan Han gently interrupted her: "Yujun."
Fu Yujun took a deep breath, forced a smile, and asked, "What is it?"
Guan Han looked at her with concern and said, "Are you nervous?"
Fu Yujun let out an awkward laugh and replied, "Not at all."
Guan Han took her hand, fingertips brushing against her sweaty palm, and frowned. "You're sweating a lot."
Fu Yujun trembled slightly and said, "It must be too hot."
Guan Han asked, "Where's the air conditioner remote?"
Fu Yujun quickly responded, "I'll get it myself."
Cool air blew from the AC vent. Fu Yujun loosened the collar of her robe a bit. Guan Han opened a bottle of toner, poured some into her palm, and added, "You have a cold—you shouldn't sit directly in front of the vent."
"Okay, okay." Fu Yujun immediately moved away from the vent as instructed.
Guan Han: "..."
It wasn't her imagination—Fu Yujun really had turned silly.
Fu Yujun also felt foolish. She went back to the bathroom to wash her face and calm down, finally regaining some of the rationality that love had swept away. But she couldn't help feeling incredibly happy. No matter how hard she tried to suppress it, the corners of her mouth would curl up uncontrollably.
Especially when she came out and saw Guan Han standing by the bed, bending over to tidy the sheets. The warm bedroom light enveloped her, making the scene feel like a beautiful dream.
Guan Han looked up and asked, "Which side do you want to sleep on?"
Whoosh—
Fireworks exploded in Fu Yujun's mind, lighting up the dark sky in a dazzling display.
Fu Yujun pressed her fist to her lips, but the grin stretching almost to her ears gave her away.
She said, "Either side is fine. You choose first."
Guan Han picked the side opposite to where Fu Yujun had been sleeping earlier.
They sat side by side at the head of the bed, staring straight ahead, fists clenched beneath the covers. Neither felt particularly sleepy, but neither knew what to say. The quiet room was so still they could almost hear each other's heartbeats.
Suddenly inspired, Fu Yujun suggested, "Want to play a game?"
Guan Han, eager to escape the tense atmosphere, agreed, "Sure."
Fu Yujun said, "I'll invite you."
On the first official day of their relationship, the two of them opened a room to play PUBG together.
Once they started gaming, both relaxed considerably.
The plane flew on, carrying 100 players. Fu Yujun said, "Let's jump together. Follow me."
"Okay."
As a rookie among rookies, Guan Han accepted the suggestion without hesitation.
The two landed on either side of a house. Fu Yujun went inside to gather equipment. Since they had jumped early, there was no immediate danger. Fu Yujun tilted her head to glance at Guan Han's phone screen, her chin nearly resting on the woman's shoulder as she leaned close to her ear and said:
"There's a Level 3 armor in the bag by the corner. I already checked it out. You take it and put it on."
"Okay."
"And there's a gun here too, an M416."
In the game, the character "Beautiful and Wild" circled around Guan Han's character. Warm, fragrant breath brushed against Guan Han's ear, making her cheeks flush slightly. She glanced at Fu Yujun's focused profile from the corner of her eye and pursed her dry lips.
After gathering the equipment, Fu Yujun told Guan Han to hide in the house while she scouted the surroundings.
Guan Han stayed put obediently, occasionally stealing glances at the other woman.
The sound of gunfire came from the phone, making Guan Han's heart skip a beat. Her eyes locked onto the teammate health bar in the upper left corner—Fu Yujun's health remained unchanged as system notifications began to pop up:
Fu Yujun looked up at Guan Han and raised an eyebrow.
Guan Han: "..."
Fu Yujun pouted. "Aren't you going to praise me?"
Guan Han replied flatly, "Impressive."
Fu Yujun released one hand from her phone and tapped her cheek with her index finger.
Guan Han: "..."
Fu Yujun tapped again.
Guan Han closed her eyes, leaned in to give her a light kiss on the cheek, then moved slightly away.
Fu Yujun scooted closer.
Guan Han whispered sternly, "Stop fooling around."
Fu Yujun actually stopped, letting out a soft chuckle as she maneuvered her character back into the house. She dumped a pile of items next to Guan Han's character.
Level 3 helmet, frying pan, 8x scope, submachine gun, sniper rifle, shotgun, first aid kits, med kits, bandages.
Guan Han: "..."
Fu Yujun grinned. "I picked these up outside. They're all for you."
Once Guan Han was fully equipped, Fu Yujun's character began circling around her again, lively and playful. Guan Han felt inexplicably shy and murmured, "Shall we head out?"
Fu Yujun said, "Let's go. Follow me."
Guan Han trailed closely behind her.
Fu Yujun charged ahead while Guan Han picked up the leftovers. Her equipment was constantly upgraded, and her backpack was overflowing with medical supplies. She happily coasted along to an easy victory.
Guan Han rarely won. Back when she played alone at home, if she managed to win, she would laugh triumphantly three times. Today, she had only laughed once when she realized something felt off.
Fu Yujun was struggling to hold back her laughter.
Guan Han coughed awkwardly and pretended nothing had happened.
Fu Yujun asked, "Want to play another round?"
Guan Han replied, "One more, then it's time for bed."
The second round wasn't as lucky. Even with Fu Yujun's protection, Guan Han accidentally got eliminated. Her screen turned gray, and after watching from Fu Yujun's perspective for a while, she found it boring.
Why watch her own phone when the person was right in front of her?
She quietly shifted closer, craning her neck to see Fu Yujun's screen. Her attention first fell on the other woman's long, nimble fingers. Under her control, the game character moved fluidly—jumping, crouching, lying prone, shooting—effortlessly taking out another player.
The kill count kept rising.
Guan Han sighed inwardly: How does she do it? How can two people be so different?
She leaned in closer and closer, her face almost unconsciously touching Fu Yujun's.
Fu Yujun suddenly turned around, locking eyes with her. Her deep tea-colored irises were clear and pure.
Guan Han's heart skipped a beat.
Fu Yujun smiled and turned back, leaving Guan Han alone to savor the sudden flutter in her chest.
After twenty minutes of intense struggle, the word "Victory" flashed across the screen.
Fu Yujun tossed her phone aside and raised her palm toward Guan Han with a radiant smile. Guan Han's body moved faster than her mind, and she high-fived her.
Smack!—a crisp, sharp sound.
Guan Han froze, staring down at her own hand.
What had she just done?
Fu Yujun wrapped her arms around Guan Han's waist, pulling her close. She nuzzled her nose affectionately against Guan Han's and whispered softly, "Don't overthink it. Just be yourself and be happy, okay?"
Guan Han nodded. "Mm."
Summoning her courage, she did something she had been wanting to do for a while.
Guan Han leaned down and quickly pressed a kiss to Fu Yujun's lips.
It all happened so suddenly that Fu Yujun had no time to react. Her eyes widened in surprise, but the warmth on her lips had already vanished. The instigator had burrowed under the covers, not even leaving her head exposed.
Fu Yujun touched her lips, unable to suppress a grin.
"Guan Han," Fu Yujun called out with a laugh, reaching to pull back the blanket covering her head. Guan Han held it firmly in place from underneath.
Realizing she couldn't overpower her, Fu Yujun abandoned the idea of a tug-of-war and opted for persuasion instead. "How can you just kiss someone and run away? A top-tier entertainment agent like you shouldn't act like this, right?"
Guan Han remained silent, wrapping the blanket even tighter around herself.
Fu Yujun patiently coaxed her for a long time, but Guan Han wouldn't budge. Fu Yujun lay down on her side, estimating the position of Guan Han's ear, and pressed close to whisper hoarsely, "Xiaohan, let me kiss you, okay?"
The edge of the blanket loosened.
Fu Yujun lifted the corner and slipped inside.
A long while later, the two emerged breathless, their faces flushed red.
Fu Yujun looked at Guan Han and smiled.
At first, Guan Han remained expressionless, but soon the corners of her eyes and lips curved upward. She stifled a laugh, clearing her throat to hold it back.
"Let's sleep." she said.
"As you command," Fu Yujun replied, turning off the bedroom light.
The room plunged into complete darkness.
Guan Han lay stiff as a board.
Fu Yujun lay on her back, her fingertips brushing against Guan Han's rigid hand. She turned her head in the darkness and said, "Don't you usually like hugging a unicorn to sleep at night? Just treat me like a plush toy. No need to be so tense."
Guan Han made a questioning sound. "How did you know that?"
Fu Yujun's heart skipped a beat. As someone with strong defensive instincts and the role of an artist manager, Guan Han had never voluntarily revealed her fondness for cute, girly things. Fu Yujun had only found out through her alternate online persona, "For_Love_lf." There was no way Guan Han would have told her about hugging a unicorn to sleep.
Fu Yujun put on a serious face and fabricated an explanation: "I guessed. People who like cute things usually do that."
"Really?"
"Really."
Fu Yujun lifted Guan Han's hand herself, snuggled into her embrace, and wrapped Guan Han's arm around her own waist. She asked expectantly, "How does it feel?"
Guan Han considered it carefully and said, "Your bones are a bit sharp."
Fu Yujun: "..."
Guan Han let out a soft laugh.
Feigning anger, Fu Yujun exclaimed, "I never thought someone as serious-looking as you would play tricks on people!"
She started tickling Guan Han, but after a long while, Guan Han showed no reaction at all.
"Aren't you ticklish?" Fu Yujun asked, feeling defeated.
"No."
"Then what are you afraid of?"
"Nothing."
"Just name something, like being afraid of bugs or something."
"..."
'So noisy.'
Guan Han covered her mouth, which was exactly what Fu Yujun had hoped for.
As they kissed, the sound of their entangled lips echoed through the spacious bedroom.
Guan Han had once complained about a fanfiction writer, "For_Love_lf," who portrayed Fu and Guan as kissing maniacs after they got together. But compared to reality now, it wasn't far off.
Fu Yujun kissed her more and more deeply. Guan Han pushed her shoulder lightly, afraid of hurting her fragile frame with too much force. Unexpectedly, Fu Yujun was pushed away instantly.
Fu Yujun gasped for breath, struggling to restrain herself, and said hoarsely, "Goodnight."
Guan Han's heart softened again. "If you really want to..."
Fu Yujun interrupted her, speaking righteously, "Let's sleep. I told you I'm not that kind of person. I'm very upright."
Guan Han shifted under the covers.
Fu Yujun's breath hitched, and she trembled as she said, "Stop!"
Guan Han replied, "Oh." She blinked with a smile in the darkness and buried her face in the crook of Fu Yujun's neck. "Goodnight."
Fu Yujun pinched her ear and said through gritted teeth, "Goodnight."
Perhaps Guan Han had talked too much the day before and exhausted herself, or maybe the new "unicorn" plushie in her arms was too fragrant and soft. She woke up much later than usual, only opening her eyes groggily when the alarm went off.
Fu Yujun emerged from the bathroom, droplets of water still glistening on her face, looking radiant and energetic—a stark contrast to her sickly state the day before.
"Good morning."
"Good morning." Guan Han wasn't one to linger in bed and immediately got up to put on her shoes.
Fu Yujun said, "I've squeezed the toothpaste for you."
"Than—" Guan Han caught herself mid-word and awkwardly changed it to, "Mm."
As Fu Yujun passed by her, she reached out and ruffled Guan Han's hair, her eyes sparkling.
Guan Han frowned immediately but ultimately said nothing.
After Guan Han finished washing up, Fu Yujun poked her head out from the walk-in closet. "What do you want to wear today? Black, white, gray, beige, or blue?"
Guan Han replied, "I'll pick myself."
Fu Yujun waited for her at the closet entrance so they could go in together.
Inside, a dedicated section of the wardrobe was reserved for Guan Han's formal attire. Of course, Guan Han had never seen these clothes before—they were prepared by Fu Yujun for unexpected occasions, and now they were coming in handy.
Guan Han picked out a blue striped suit and held it up against herself in front of the mirror.
Fu Yujun clapped her hands beside her and exclaimed, "Wow, it looks amazing! It makes your legs look so long."
Guan Han shot her a look that was half-annoyed, half-amused.
Fu Yujun rubbed the back of her index finger against the tip of her nose and smiled sheepishly.
Fu Yujun rummaged through the glass wardrobe herself, stealing glances in Guan Han's direction and pretending to be indecisive. "What should I wear? Darling, could you help me pick something?"
Guan Han casually hung the suit on a coat rack, walked over, and scanned the options carefully. She selected a fitted, light white dress and held it up against Fu Yujun's shoulders. "How about this one?"
She didn't hear Fu Yujun's response and looked up in confusion, only to find the other woman's eyes slightly reddened. When Fu Yujun noticed her gaze, she blinked quickly to hide it.
"Okay, I'll take this one." Fu Yujun smiled as she took the clothes from her.
Guan Han pressed her lips together, remaining quiet for a moment before thoughtfully saying, "Hmm... it looks really nice. It makes your legs appear slimmer."
Fu Yujun chuckled, "You have a good eye."
Familiarity breeds ease, and without hesitation, Guan Han replied, "It's because you have a great figure."
Fu Yujun sighed softly, "There aren't many like me—both beautiful and with a good figure. You should cherish me."
Guan Han noticed a glimmer of moisture in her eyes and nodded gently, "Mm."
