CHAPTER 54

After watching the movie, Ye Chengxing tapped the screen and exited the viewing mode. She heard Li Jia say, "Sister, can we watch another movie? I didn't like the one we just watched."

Ye Chengxing paused for a moment and thought, "Sure, let's watch another one."

While saying that, she handed her phone to Li Jia and said, "Li Jia, you pick."

Li Jia took the phone and looked at the delicate tray on the side. "And Sister hasn't tasted these snacks either."

Ye Chengxing followed Li Jia's gaze and gently exclaimed.

She had just remembered.

Besides watching the movie, she was either watching Li Jia or completely forgot about the calming tea and these snacks placed on the side.

She had been regulating her sleep schedule, and the room was still dimly lit. Although the projection light in front of her was bright, it wasn't glaring; it was a soft and gentle light.

It created an atmosphere that was suitable for sleeping.

But seeing that Li Jia still wanted to watch, Ye Chengxing didn't say anything.

It was rare to see Li Jia so enthusiastic.

She watched as Li Jia selected a movie and played it again. Ye Chengxing thought that it wouldn't hurt to stay awake for the night and watch like this.

But as she thought about it, Ye Chengxing unknowingly closed her eyes halfway through the third movie.

Beside her, Li Jia had actually noticed that Ye Chengxing was getting tired from the movie, but seeing how she couldn't bear to sleep with her by her side, Li Jia couldn't help but let time drag on.

Although it wasn't the best thing to do, she couldn't resist when she saw Ye Chengxing in this state.

Li Jia quietly watched Ye Chengxing.

Li Jia's gaze swept over Alpha's features and landed on her lips.

The movie continued to play, but she could no longer hear the sound of the film.

The room remained dimly lit, with the soft light from the projection falling on the skin of the person in front, like cold jade touched by frost, except for the crimson lips.

As the moon fell and the river poured, the curtains weren't drawn tightly, allowing a few strands of chilly light to pass through the cracks and leave faint traces on the floor.

The music from the movie played in her ears, a gentle and enchanting female voice humming incredibly romantic lyrics.

They were on the same bed, originally leaning close to each other.

Without realizing it, Li Jia leaned closer.

The person she had been thinking about day and night was right in front of her, as if she could just get a bit closer and kiss those lips.

Li Jia lowered her head slightly, her gaze devout and fascinated, as if approaching her own deity.

However, just at the moment when their lips were about to touch, her movement suddenly stopped.

Li Jia averted her gaze, trying hard to restrain her thoughts.

She dared not look at the Alpha, who was still asleep in front of her. She pulled the soft quilt beside her and covered Ye Chengxing before turning off the projection. She then left the room in a somewhat disheveled state.

With the projection turned off, the only remaining light in the room faded into darkness.

The door closed with a soft sound.

Ye Chengxing heard the sound and woke up slightly from her dream.

...Wait, Li Jia left?

She don't know if she finished watching the movie or not. I'll find another time to watch it with Li Jia.

Ah, when did she fall asleep? She couldn't remember.

The restless feeling in her heart instantly eased after sensing the lingering pheromones of the Omega.

So Ye Chengxing hugged the quilt and snuggled closer to the spot where Li Jia had been before.

Li Jia must have stayed for quite some time, as the pheromones left in this spot were clearly stronger than elsewhere.

Ye Chengxing closed her eyes and finally felt much more comfortable.
