CHAPTER 5

Ye Chengxing couldn't sleep.

Just a while ago, after taking Li Jia's temperature, she seemed fine. But after another hour and a half, Li Jia began showing signs of a fever. Biting her lip, sweat forming on her forehead, furrowed brows, and a reddish tint at the corners of her eyes, she looked as if she had a nightmare.

She called out her name.

Sunlight poured in from outside, leaving long traces on the floor, and the breakfast bag on the table emitted steam, filled with vitality and a sense of everyday life, as if it had instantly brought her back to the human world.

Li Jia clenched the blade in her hand without showing any expression.

She thought, what a strange and dazzling scene it is.
